Hey kids, do you want to learn to cross-country ski? Already know how to ski, but want to learn some tips to improve your skills? Hey parents, want a chance to ski on your own this winter?
The Blue Mountain Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club is celebrating the 2nd year of the Nordic ski program for kids 5-16 years old. This season, we are pleased to be able to lend skis to those who need them for the winter season. We will meet twice a week, on Thursdays (4:30-5:30 pm) at Meacham Divide Nordic Ski Area and Sundays (11-12:00) at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort during January and February. Skiers will be placed into one of 3 classes, by age and ability (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) to learn classic skiing technique (advanced skiers will also learn skating technique).
Cost per skier is $40 for 16 lessons or $20 for 8 lessons. Proceeds will go to BMNC to offset costs for volunteer instructors and to organize a fun race (2 km, 5 km, 10km) and BBQ at Meacham Divide at the end of the season (March 3).
